Funding the ISMN

I saw in the latest newsletter that the ISMN is considering the need for new funding sources--what scale of funding will likely be needed? Could having a low annual subscription fee to use the ISMN help?

    Thank you, it is certainly nice to hear that you value our services enough, that you would consider paying for it. Still, we don’t think becoming a paid service is the way to go forward. On one hand we most likely wouldn’t be able to sustain ourselves with fees only, on the other hand we would like to be available to a maximum number of users. Most importantly, at the ISMN we believe in open data. This helped us to find like-minded partner networks, who in turn provide us with open data.
