The Remote Sensing Laboratories at the Department of Geography (www.geo.uzh.ch/rsl) of the University of Zurich invites applications for a
(Senior) Research Scientist of Radar Remote Sensing (permanent position)
in order to join our team of experts at the Remote Sensing Laboratories.
We seek innovative applicants with a strong record in research and teaching, who will strengthen our existing expertise in radar remote sensing. Applicants with an internationally competitive research profile in any field of synthetic aperture radar (SAR) and demonstrating potential for innovative interdisciplinary research are particularly encouraged to apply.
The successful applicant is expected to continue and develop a complementary and independent research program in synthetic aperture radar research, aimed at understanding the signal, as well as high quality focusing and application of such data to relevant problems of concern. Contributing to the existing undergraduate and graduate teaching efforts in remote sensing will also constitute an integral part of the position. The successful applicant will be located at the Remote Sensing Laboratories and is further expected to acquire external funding. The post is a permanent position and a PhD degree as well as a few years PostDoc experience is a requirement. Experience in SAR signal processing, ability to speak or willingness to learn German and managing a team are assets.
